Merseyside Police intentions challenged by HTA

HTA Secretary, John Dyne has challenged the legality of the Merseyside Police intention to make unilateral changes to notifications (see below).  Communications sent out by Merseyside Police suggest that any notifications will only be accepted that comply with STGO regulations; ending the monthly practice of batch/monthly notifications and requiring the driver to be in possession of the notification or risk prosecution.

Merseyside Police have been invited to discuss the matter further at the next HTA Meeting on 26 Jan 2012 and it is anticipated that representatives from Merseyside Police will be attending.
